We are a charity (Charity number 1030911) run preschool playgroup and the oldest in the Kimberley area having just celebrated out 50 years. We started in Kimberley Parish hall in 1968, but when Kettlebrook Lodge opened in 1983 this was the perfect opportunity to move to a more custom built premises and this is where we have been ever since
We offer up to 30 hours childcare for children ages 2+ until your child starts school and our sessions are very flexible. Your children do not need to be potty trained to attend.
We also have free places for qualifying 2, 3 and 4-year-olds. Our Prices as of September 2022 are:
9am-3pm £20.
9.30am-3pm £18.50.
9am-12pm £10.
9.30-12 £8.50.
9am-1pm £13.50
12pm-3pm £10
12.30pm-3pm £8.50
With our fully qualified staff, we understand that each child has their own unique needs and interests. We provide the environment and tools your child needs to thrive to the best of their abilities.
When we expose children to different environments and various learning experiences, we allow them to explore their self-awareness and gain a sense of the world around them.
Once they leave Kimberley Pre-School Playgroup, they’re fully prepared for the next stage of their young lives.
Our Sessions
Learning Through Play
Small world
The children enjoy learning about the world around them playing with cars, dolls houses, toy villages, dinosaurs, farms and all sorts of other fun toys
Construction
This is where the children learn to build or connect toys together lie wooden blocks and lego.
Outdoor Play
We have a lovely enclosed gate, covered outdoor area so the children can free flow play. The children have sand, water, bikes and cars, playhouse, climbing frame, pavement chalk and a huge array of other outdoor toys to play with
Shape and numbers
Children love to learn shapes, colours, letters and numbers through games and jigsaws. This is always a busy area
Language
Language is an important part of development. We have a book corner the children can access any time. We also enjoy a story and a sing-song together as a group at the end of every session
Home corner
We have a shop, 999 services, and vets. However, the children's favorite is definitely the house with babies and dress-up costumes
Physical
Children this age love to balance, jump, climb, throw, kick, and any other fun big movements. We have a good range of indoor and outdoor physical equipment
Creative art and design
Children enjoy art and craft. Painting and cooking are the children's usual favorites but they also enjoy sticking and tactile play. We also have a mark-making table where the children can practice their writing, drawing, and colouring in skills

All our staff are fully qualified in Childcare level 3, First Aid and Safeguarding to make sure your children are getting quality care.
We hope that from language to literacy and from social skills to creative expression, our children at Kimberley Pre-school Playgroup are always being encouraged to try their very best and thrive in a fun learning environment.
